UPVC Replacement Door Handles
As time passes the handles on your doors will wear down and require replacement. When doing this it is important that the new handles are in line with the exact dimensions of the previous handle.
The top screw position as well as the lever and keyhole dimensions are the three measurements you have to verify. Use the size guide to help you.
Inline Lever/Lever
A lever handle is a modern door handle designed to suit new or replacement doors. This type of door handle is available in a wide range of styles & finishes. A variety of manufacturers provide this type of handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.
Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle

The door handles made of uPVC/Composite are constructed of durable materials and are ideal for multi point lock doors that require a strong design. The handles are inline and operate from the same spindle and screw fixings so they are easily installed on existing or new uPVC/Composite doors.
The design of the sprung lever allows the handle to be positioned and angled to provide a comfortable grip and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested to 200,000 cycles, this allows for the assurance of the quality of the finish and the performance of the handle over time. The sprung lever is adjustable to accommodate a wide range of locks. This is particularly useful in doors with smaller door frames where the cylinder is further back. A lever that is shorter is an ideal choice for doors where the latch could be activated by the thumb turn on the inside.
Lever Pad
The lever pad upvc handle is distinct from the lever handles that are found on most doors. These handle types can either operate from a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side by using two inline or offset spindles (pad). They are typically used on UPVC doors with double glazing. They are available in a variety of finishes and variations.
The handles are available in a variety of finishes, including White, Chrome, and Gold. The finish meets BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, thereby giving the handle a high level of durability and performance for the intended use.
All of the UPVC handle lever pad styles are supplied with the spindle and screws, allowing them to be fitted on an existing or new uPVC door. The backplate fixation centers of 211mm allow for a bigger handle, which is typically an advantage when replacing an old or damaged multi-point door lock mechanism. These handle levers have springs, which can solve the issue of door handles that move out of horizontal position when not being used.
When selecting the replacement UPVC handle and spindle it is crucial to match the dimensions of the PZ on both the multipoint lock and the uPVC door. This measurement is also known as the handle centre or 'cylinder centres and is an essential aspect to match the right handles.
Once you have the proper PZ size you will then be required to make sure that the lever pads and push pads are in a suitable shape to fit the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compatible handles you require for your doors. These are usually square or round with an internal lever and an external push pad.
The majority of UPVC lever pads we sell are sprung, meaning that they will return to their horizontal position after not being used, instead of hanging out and possibly sticking in the frame. This helps prevent the draughts and cold air from getting into a house. The majority of UPVC lever pad style handles are available in left and right handed versions, allowing them to be placed on either side of doors.
window handles are found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. The cylinder lock operates with a key that unlocks the cylinder case. The case is then able to reveal pins that can be aligned to the pins in the lock and allow them to turn the revolving camera, opening the door. Euro cylinders are available with up to six pins. Doors that are internal and external require different levels of security.
The choice of cylinder you choose is vital. It's dependent on the amount of use your doors and handles will receive. Doors that are external, for instance should be equipped with cylinders that are more secure and internal doors can be secured with a standard cylinder. In addition, some cylinders have extra features that increase security even more, like anti-drill or anti-bump properties.
To ensure that the euro cylinder is the correct size for your door, it must be measured accurately. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to the other end of the cylinder, including the thumb turn if you have one. It is recommended to do this with the lock in place however in the event that this is not possible, you can take it off to measure. A cylinder that is protruding beyond the handle and escutcheon could be vulnerable to attacks such as snapping locks, therefore it is crucial that it is not too long.
The design of most newer cylinders comes with anti-drilling as well as bump resistance features. They are designed to minimize attacks by forcing cylinders to turn in a new direction. This can help stop the attack and keep your doors safe.
Certain cylinders are constructed to withstand snapping. This is an increasingly common method of attack on cylinders, which is where the break line of the lock is targeted by a tool that is specially designed to break the front of the cylinder to allow the door to open. This is a quicker and more convenient method of gaining access than using the use of a multipoint locking system. It also leaves no evidence of the break-in which could make it difficult to prove insurance claims.
Spring Cassette
The spring cassette is located within the base of your door handle's backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution to return the multipoint lock handles back to their original position after using. The handles were previously equipped with no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was disengaged. Adding this simple component is among the most effective ways to fix this and it is also a great way to prevent your doors made of upvc from getting stuck in the open or closed position, as these aren't always simple to close manually.
These spring cassettes are specifically made for use with sprung multipoint locks They will not work with non-sprung multipoint handles. You will need to have a hole specifically cut in your backplate to allow these to fit (please look at the image for a technical diagram). They are a replacement for existing broken or missing cassettes in the backplate of the door handle for many brands of uPVC doors. They feature an elongated square that can accommodate an 8mm spindle, and they are supplied individually.
These spring cassettes are an excellent value solution to the problem of door handles that are sagging. These spring cassettes are simple to install and will extend the lifespan of your uPVC door.
